Canyon Art Classes

From painting and drawing, to graphic design, photography, ceramics and sculpture, Rock Canyon has a wide variety of classes to encourage the development of any artist no matter the medium.

Art Classes

Painting and Drawing

In this class you will learn about the elements of design and get an introduction into color theory.  In the process, you will experiment with a variety of different mediums including: chalk pastel, acrylic paint, oil paint, water color, pen, pencil, and even block printing

Membership Requirements

Membership Requirements

As an honors community we want as many well qualified and dedicated members as possible. As such, there are a few requirements to be a member of NAHS. The most important are

  • Must have taken at least a 4th level or higher art class

  • Must attend the monthly meetings

  • Must complete a total of 10 hours of community service over the two years  (5 per year)

  • Must participate in 4 NAHS events or activities a year

  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA

Lettering

You can finally letter in art! For many art related activities you may be awarded varying amounts of points that can go towards achieving a letter. In order to do so, you must collect 500 points, by completing various art related activities. Then you must prove that you have earned those points by filling out the paperwork below. If you're have any questions contact Kate Koury, Megan Hassler, or Mrs. Schutz. All paper work is due by May 1st and must be neatly organized in a binder or folder with your name and grade on the front.
